Singer/song writer, Dick Orleans has been a professional musician for
most of his life. In the late 1970s, Orleans traveled the country with
his guitar playing as a solitary act and on tour with such folk legends
as Glenn Yarbrough.
Though Orleans comes from a long line of settlers that arrived in
Colorado in the 1850’s, he grew up on the East Coast and only discovered
Estes Park in 1980 while on a tour with Yarbrough. After one summer’s
stay, he fell in love with Rocky Mountain National Park and decided to
make Estes his home.
For 30 years, Orleans has been singing and playing guitar at one of the
many music venues in Estes Park. He also produces music CDs for
independent artists and has released several CDs of his own, some of
which are recordings of Rocky Mountain National Park’s birds and elk
mating rituals.
Orleans, who also has a passion for nature photography is especially
adept at capturing the delicate beauty of flowers, butterflies, and
hummingbirds in flight.
Through photography and music, Orleans shares with everyone his love of
the majestic mountain peaks, forests, fields, tundra and wildlife of
Rocky Mountain National Park.
